I hear you and what I also found out  is they will pay  Only if you can come up with the difference , call your  community action services, they can help and can put you in touch with some local churches that can help too  , the churches here have helped alot   trust me  they have alot to offer  and not just $$

To my Knowlege not one person on here has got any financial help, you need to get on the phone now and start contacting agency's   don't wait until too late   do it now   they can help, I waited too late, you have 4 kids and hopefully a phone   do it now

Also , my airline shut down 2 yrs ago  which has een a struggle, however, I was making it  which put me into the sales industry   now  im completely sunk  who the hell is going to hire a 47 yr old woman that now lives in a car with her child.  And all the taxes I paid for 32 yrs, no help.......or hands up should I say   this is a diaster  How do I get  or accept employment now ? and I have a kick a$$  resume. I sold and pawned everything I could (only so much fits in a car)    The tax economy refund is coming a day late and a dollar short  for me  and it wot go to the economy for most of us , it will e used for  survival   period.   Please all  pray for my daughter and I tonight and on  I need to keep her safe. 

Great post, I made over 55k and my child and I are in the car as of tonight  I recieved some canned food from St Vincent D Paul  this morning   and they are trying to help us as much as they can however, so much they can do with so many in my position.   I worked in the "suprime" computer software sales industry  until I and 8 others were termiated   the market is in a freefall  it only took 7 weeks to get to this level  and I may have a jo next week ut as of tonight, no address and no phone so I wont know, and living in a car with a child........this is just a devastating diaster   I have sought help through every avenue for the first time in my life and the system is set up to help you fail, grants are now pulled from the agency's meant to help, from our govt.......huge corp's will not give you a hands up they want money now  ie.  power company  .  For the first time in my life, Im a failure  I have no place to go , Im praying I can find a safe place for dauter and I to park the car tonight so we can sleep.   I wish you and your hus  the est of luck.

First of all, contact your credit card company. They can help you in disputing the charge  thats the saftey in using them.   Second, the airline that went under usually makes arrangements for their "stranded travellers" with another airline.   If you don't mind me asking  which airline was it?   I can find that information out for you as to who will honor their flight reservation.  This should not e an issue at all.

Its helped to share pretty much the same situation as so many others are going through. The employed and the well off don't know that this can happen to them in a nano second however, I think there are so many of us  that if a truely giving person that wanted to help came on, they wouldn't know where to start.  Its overwhelming.

I made almost 50 k per yr working for the airline's and a moving company in my spare time, now  2 of us are  on my daughters childsupport check at 81 a week  since my account is over drawn  I have to cash it at one of those places and pay a fee.  The emergency food stamps I applied for and was approved for on March 7th have still not arrived and it was supposed to take 5 to 7 day's. They are currently trying to find out what happened so out of 81 a week for 2   thats  food ,laundry,gas  we will e on the street when they do arrive.  Every night on the news they are showing the eviction teams throwing people out on the street, the power company came this morning and I managed to plead with the guy not to shut me off until Friday as we are packing and cleaning to leave.  He first said he couldn't then he knocked on the door and said he would do it just this time as he has 166 cutoffs   Can you even fathom THAT?   166 & this is not a large area so i was helped from god this morning in that area.   This is just horrific how many of us need to go on the street . I have women sizes 8 to 10 and  baby clothing if that will help. also some teen (girl) sizes in I think zero's.  I am in my own tramitic situation however if it will help you, I will take them to a church and see if they would pay to ship them.  Let me know.

Thank you aoj  I hope you find some also   I will e in the car in 2 day's with a 14 yr old  its terrifying.  She is devastated and you know how they are at that age.   This happened 2 yrs ago when my airline shut down, just as heart ripping however, we had a place to go..... that friend has since passed ...we are literally on the street Friday. We were doing well it took only 6 weeks from making it to famine to homeless in one fell swoop.

You can report the check to your fincial institutions fraud division  they will normally have it returned to your account within 7 to 10 day's   you also need to file a police report.

Florida power and light will not help you and community action will only give you some if you can prove you can pay the remainder. Im out of work 6 weeks now will have no power tomorrow. Amazing how fast one can fall. I have went everywhere for help, so much for help from some of these agencys.  Instead of a life raft to help you swim, seems they would rather you sink and get on the "system"  then the power company will slap you with additional deposits  I wonder if they will let my child and I live in their office.  Good luck to you, I hope you can find some help. 

I am a currently out of work single mom in central fl. My power gets shut tomorrow and I dont have money for the rent.  I have consistantly worked 32 yrs of my life.  I have a 14 yr old daughter and no family or friends that can help.  We are very frightened we are about to be homeless.
